Keizer Community Food Bank
In the spring of 2007 Keizer Clear Lake United Methodist joined four other Keizer churches to form the Keizer Community Food Bank. The other churches participating in the Keizer Food Bank are: John Knox Presbyterian, Keizer Christian, Saint Edwards Catholic and Faith Lutheran. The Keizer Community Food Bank is an extension of Marion Polk Food Share/Oregon Food Share.
Food distribution is Monday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 at Faith Lutheran Church in Keizer. Keizer Clear Lake UMC staffs the distribution site the first Monday of each month. Over 40 people from Keizer Clear Lake Church have volunteered to staff the first Monday night of the month at the Food Bank. It is a great outreach ministry to our Keizer Community.
Kevin Hohnbaum and Jane Mulholland led a group of youth and adults from a variety of churches on a mission trip to Tijuana, Mexico in March of 2009. The Mission Team worked at a church in Tijuana painting and cleaning. The Mission Team also organized a Vacation Bible School for young people in a local Tijuana church and helped to spread God's love by loving others!
